Culture and Discovery
Chantepie takes part in the recurring intermunicipal festival “Un Weekend à la Rue”, which includes free street theatre and other street art performances, as well as theatre and music. A playful way to explore the town is offered by the 2 km geocaching trail “Chantepie et les chemins de traverse”, with eight puzzle stations. The trail uses a fountain, a charade and the traces of an old tram line as puzzle and discovery elements.
Nature
Parc Dolto offers a shaded walk around a pond through a diverse range of plant life and includes a children’s play area. Jardin Odorrico is a recreational area with sculptures and mosaics; it also has a children’s playground and a multisport area. As a larger natural area, the 170-hectare Bois de Sœuvres, with its great biodiversity, showcases another side of Chantepie’s landscape.
The Coulée verte connects Place des Marelles with the Maison pour tous and hosts numerous public events every year, including the Fête de la musique.
Trails
The “Vallée de la Vilaine amont” cycle route is 24 km long and takes around two hours. It connects Chantepie with Noyal-sur-Vilaine and passes through fields and pastureland. The trails starting in the town also include the “Balade à Roulettes® - Au fil de la coulée verte”: this 3.7 km walking trail begins at the car park of the new cemetery on Avenue d’Orient.
