History and Local Character
Historically, Mariol was a village of arable farmers and winegrowers. The former vineyards produced a small wine reminiscent of Saint-Pourçain.

The Église Saint-Cyr et Sainte-Juliette was rebuilt from 1881 onwards and is dedicated to Julitte and her son Cyr. The 19th-century château is part of Mariol’s architectural heritage.
