Culture and History
Saint-Avit is a medieval hamlet in Lacapelle-Biron dating from the Renaissance period. Saint-Avit is home to a Romanesque church with a monumental fresco. The Église Saint-Avit was classified as a historic monument by decree of 17 June 1954.
The Musée Bernard Palissy houses one of the largest public collections of contemporary ceramics in France, with more than 450 works. Every year, the museum stages a sales exhibition of contemporary ceramics and has a permanent section dedicated to the life and work of Bernard Palissy.
