Nature

The Marais du Plata is located in the municipality of Sore, in the Landes de Gascogne Regional Nature Park and in the Petite Leyre valley. It preserves remnants of the former wetlands of the Landes and glacial peat bogs with rare flora and fauna.

Les Balcons de la Leyre is a trail along the banks of the Petite Leyre with an orchard where the local apple variety Pomme de Sore grows. The Pomme de Sore A380 apple variety was discovered in the village of Sore in 1979 and is considered an excellent apple variety for making apple juice.

Culture

The Porte des Anglais dates from the second half of the 13th century and is listed as a historic monument. It is the last surviving section of the fortification wall of the former fortified town of Sore and is located at the site of the Moulin à eau.

The Église Saint-Jean-Baptiste has a 16th-century decoration in the northern side apse depicting the Flight into Egypt and the Coronation of the Virgin. It is also the oldest surviving standing building in Sore and was probably built in the 12th century.
