Pimbo is home to the oldest bastide in the Landes département. The Bastide de Pimbo was established through a paréage agreement concluded in Saint-Sever on 15 December 1268. The parties involved were the Abbot of Pimbo and the Seneschal of Gascony on behalf of Henry III of England, Duke of Aquitaine. The settlement is currently laid out as a linear village along a road running along the ridge.

Culture and History
The Église Saint-Barthélémy in Pimbo is a Romanesque church dating from the 12th century, with three naves and three apses. The church and its former presbytery, including the northern terrace and the medieval hall beneath it, have been listed as historic monuments under a protection order dated 6 January 1998.
The interactive tour of the Collégiale in Pimbo offers multilingual text explanations of the church portal and includes a multilingual text guide to the history of Pimbo. The portal of the Collégiale de Pimbo is decorated with carved depictions of discs with Celtic overtones, pine cones and figures.
Nature and Landscape
The Coteaux de Pimbo is a 13.81-hectare sensitive natural area in Pimbo managed by the Landes département. The Coteaux comprise limestone hills, natural meadows, oak stands and ponds, and both hills are freely accessible.
On the Coteau du Moulin, there is a 1 km educational trail with panels about habitats and species. A freely accessible path also runs through the local flora and fauna; more than 25 orchid species grow on the Coteau du Moulin.
The Jardin du curé at the Collégiale offers views over the Gabas valley and, in clear weather, of the Pyrenees.
Pilgrimage Route and Trails
The Via Podiensis passes through Pimbo on the way to Santiago de Compostela, between the stages of Miramont-Sensacq and Morlanne.
The Circuit de Sensacq passes through the hills of Tursan and by chapels as well as natural, preserved habitats. As part of this Circuit de Sensacq, the Romanesque Chapelle de Sensacq is located on the valley floor of the Bas; its roof structure is shaped like an inverted boat hull.
Pimbo has the official route “Pimbo – Circuit de Sensacq”. There is also the route “A Pimbo, circuit des Pyrénées”.
Discoveries in the Village
A former treasure hunt in Pimbo led visitors through the village. They solved several riddles and could find a treasure using a booklet from the letterbox of the former town hall.
