Pey: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The town centre of Pey extends around the Church of Saint Saturnin. The parish church is attributed to a building from the 12th century; its side chapels were extended into side aisles in 1879 according to plans by the architect Legrand from Dax.

Culture

The Pont de La Marquèze is a Bowstring-type concrete arch bridge with a suspended roadway. It spans the Adour between Josse and Pey and carries two lanes of the D 33. The bridge was built from 1931 and inaugurated in 1935.

Landscape

The Barthes de l’Adour near Pey are partly used for agriculture. In winter, the semi-underground hunting huts known as “tonnes” are used for duck hunting in the Barthes of Pey.

Farms and Products

Ferme Batis gives visitors insights into its crops, including cereals and irrigated maize, its duck and poultry farming, and its farm facilities. The ducks are kept outdoors and fed with grain from the farm itself or from the region. At Ferme Batis, visitors can discover products from the Landes, such as foie gras, duck confit, pâtés and rillettes.

Ferme Pélerin offers tours of the farm, featuring ducks, kiwis and seed maize. Tastings of whole duck foie gras, pâtés, rillettes, confit and gizzards are offered there. Ferme Pélerin welcomes groups of ten or more for tours by prior reservation.

Ferme de Libat in Pey produces organic poultry, beef and dairy products. The dairy cows of Ferme de Libat graze in the Barthes de l’Adour and produce organic ice cream and organic dairy products.

Routes and Waters

The Ronde des Barthes trail course starts at the Fronton, descends to the Pont de la Marquèze, passes through the Sabla forest and then follows the banks of the Adour. For 2024, Marquéze in Pey is assigned to the Dax fishing-water area.
