Culture and History

Because of its remote location and frequent flooding, the Église Saint-Pierre was rebuilt stone by stone in the centre of the village on the eve of the French Revolution.
The washhouse of Oeyreluy dates from the 19th century and was restored in 2011. The water in the washhouse flows at a temperature of 23°C.
The Château d’Hardy is a former Caverie and is connected with the history of Oeyreluy. It is a private residence and cannot be visited.
The Maison du passeur recalls the former crossing of the river by ferry. It once enabled local residents to reach the village centre and children from the surrounding area to get to school.
