Beach and Water
Plage du Courant has a smoke-free beach. The beaches of Mimizan are supervised from May to September. Plage du Courant is accessible to people with reduced mobility with two Tiralo beach wheelchairs.
At low tide, the mouth of the Courant de Mimizan forms wide sandbanks that are popular with families. The Courant de Mimizan can be explored along the riverside paths, by bicycle, or on the water by canoe and paddleboard.

Cycle Paths
The Vélodyssée-Piste cyclable de la Côte is an easy, 4.6 km-long cycle path starting from Mimizan-Plage, separated from motor traffic and running parallel to the beach. From the centre of Mimizan-Plage, you can use part of the Vélodyssée.
The Vélodyssée-Piste cyclable des Dunes is 4 km long, separated from motor traffic, runs from west to east through the state forest, and follows former dunes. In the surrounding area, a bike ride from Mimizan-Plage takes you 7 km to the wild beach of Lespecier.
Culture and History
The Chapelle à la mer was built from wood and opened for worship on 19 July 1900. In summer, it serves as an exhibition venue for the history of the area. The Église Notre Dame des Dunes was built on the banks of the Courant in 1969 to replace the parish chapel.
The Monument Les Ailes commemorates the crossing of the North Atlantic in 1929 by Assolant, Lefèvre and Loti. It remains a landmark of the seaside resort and a destination for a walk. The arenas of Mimizan-Plage were inaugurated on 28 June 1970.
Leisure
The skate park in Mimizan-Plage is a freely accessible facility covering approximately 1,300 m², with the three areas City Stade, Plaza and Bowl; the Bowl area is 1.80 to 3 m deep.
The family-friendly treasure hunt “Mimizan d'hier et d'aujourd'hui” leads through the streets of Mimizan-Plage and Mimizan Bourg and reveals the hidden history of the town.
Nature
The Circuit de la Maillouèyre follows the Courant de Mimizan, passes through the Landes pine forest, and reaches natural dune and forest habitats.
