The Church of Saint-Pierre has a single-nave structure and a western vestibule tower with a square pyramidal roof. It was built in 1868.

The history of Liposthey also includes a postal relay station established in 1464 and an entry on a map of the routes to Santiago de Compostela from 1648. Historically, the town was frequented by pilgrims who used the Tours route of the Way of Saint James.

Landscape

The surroundings of Liposthey are characterised by extensive stands of maritime pine, which form part of the typical landscape of the Landes de Gascogne forest massif.

In the second half of the 19th century, the damp and marshy heathland in Liposthey was drained and planted with maritime pines as a result of the law of 19 June 1857; it thereby became part of the Landes forest.
