The Voie Verte du Marsan et de l’Armagnac is suitable for walking, hiking, cycling and horseback riding. Motorized traffic is prohibited along the route. It follows 50 kilometers of a former railway line between Gabarret and Mont-de-Marsan.

Culture
The Manoir de Tampouy remains visible from hiking trails near the Voie Verte du Marsan et de l’Armagnac. The Church of Saint-Pierre stands in the center of Le Frêche. Following a recent collapse, only the nave’s façade wall and the bell tower remain. The unadorned pointed-arch portal is considered medieval, while the bell tower dates from 1741.
The Church of Saint-Victor de Saint-Vidou has a rectangular floor plan. Its nave leads into a semicircular choir flanked by semicircular chapels. To the west, the church has a square bell tower with a portal, crowned by a slate spire.
History
The Manoir de Tampouy is a fortified house whose construction was authorized in 1343 by Aléonor de Comminges, the mother of Gaston Fébus. At that time, it served the lord as a lookout over the crossing of the Midou River. The interior of the Manoir de Tampouy is not open to visitors.
Of the six churches that once stood in the municipality of Le Frêche, the Church of Saint-Victor de Saint-Vidou is the only one documented as still existing.
Gastronomy
Christelle Lasseignou produces Armagnac as well as white and rosé Floc de Gascogne in the small village of Le Frêche near Mont-de-Marsan.
A visit to Domaine de Maouhum may include a stay among the 7-hectare vineyards, a tour of a mobile still heated by a wood fire, and a visit to the aging cellar with the estate’s oak barrels. Visits to Domaine de Maouhum are available by prior appointment.
By prior appointment, Domaine de Jouatmaou offers groups of up to 20 people tours of the wine cellar and a small family museum. On site or at the Ô Champs producers’ shop in Villeneuve, the estate sells Armagnac, the red and white aperitif “Mystère,” and infused Armagnacs.
Domaine de Jouatmaou has an underground cellar with an earthen floor, divided into several rooms and housing oak barrels from the estate.
