Ueberstrass: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Notre Dame de Grunenwald stands in Ueberstrass on a wooded ridge that separates the Largue Valley from the Suarcine Valley. The first sanctuary was probably built in the second half of the 15th century. The site is open daily and free to access. The Saint-Jean Chapel is a 15th-century building. It is currently closed to the public due to age-related damage and vandalism.

Ueberstrass is one of the municipalities within the Natura 2000 site FR4201811 “Sundgau, région des étangs”. The Étang du Bois Vert is a one-hectare pond in a natural, wooded setting.

On the Chapels Circuit, after a gravel section and three changes of direction, the route descends towards Ueberstrass along a paved section.

The Chapels Circuit from Friesen to Ueberstrass is 7.3 kilometres long and is listed as a hike lasting 2 hours and 30 minutes. The VTT Circuit No. 20 “Au fil de la Largue” passes through Ueberstrass.

Further Activities

Fishing for predatory fish, carp, tench and coarse fish is possible at the Étang du Bois Vert. Sund'Go Découverte offers a guided quad tour through the Sundgau, meeting at 24 Grand Rue in Ueberstrass.
