Culture and history

The Chapelle Saint-André is located on Rue de la Chapelle in Strueth. It has a rib-vaulted choir with a Saint Andrew’s cross carved into the keystone.

The Chapelle Sainte-Élisabeth was built from concrete in 1951–1952 and is characterized by simple geometric forms. Its stained-glass windows were created by Jean Barillet.

The Croix Richert was erected in 1883 by Xavier Richert and Maria Anna Kaiser. Historically, it served as a stopping place for the funeral processions of the deceased from Strueth who were buried in the cemetery of Mertzen.

The Croix près du réservoir is a stone cross dating from 1803. It displays an IHS Christogram and, beneath it, a heart from which three nails emerge.

The Croix sous les tilleuls bears an inscription stating that praying five Our Fathers and five Hail Marys grants an indulgence of 30 days. The cross is shaded by two old linden trees.

Walking tour

The Croix du Kirchweg was put back in place in November 2020 on the municipal path to the right of the footbridge over the Largue. A small wooden bench next to it provides a resting place for walkers.
