Culture
The former Château des comtes de Montbéliard-Wurtemberg in Riquewihr is now used as a museum. The Dolder Museum presents Riquewihr as a fortified wine town and traces its development from the 13th to the 17th century.
The Dolder, dating from 1291, served as a defensive tower, watchtower and bell tower. The Tour des Voleurs is an angular defensive tower from the end of the 13th or beginning of the 14th century. From the 15th to the 18th century, it also served as a prison and a place of seigneurial justice.

Wine from Riquewihr was exported throughout the Empire and to the Hanseatic countries. The town lies in a valley open to the east, surrounded by foothills of the Vosges planted with grapevines.
The Dolder offers a remarkable view of Riquewihr’s rooftops and towards the Alsatian plain. The Géovino wine trail also runs through Riquewihr.
