The Mur des Cigognes is part of Ostheim’s war memorial, which was inaugurated on September 6, 1953. The wall with a stepped gable, known as the Mur des Cigognes, is listed as a protected monument in Ostheim. It is also one of the few surviving remnants of the old village of Ostheim from the period following the battles of the last war.

Culture and History

The Catholic Church of Saint-Nicolas was consecrated in May 1960 and rebuilt in an exceptionally modern style. The church houses the more than two-metre-high Notre-Dame d’Ostheim statue, carved from lightly tinted linden wood. Saint-Nicolas also has an organ dating from 1963, built by the Roethinger organ builders from Strasbourg.

The Discovery Circuit of Ostheim is a circular walking route. The Parc de Schoppenwihr is located 1 km from the municipality of Ostheim and offers pleasant walks. Ostheim is served by a regular bus or tram service.
