The history of Münster includes the surviving parts of the former Saint Grégoire Abbey. The Tour aux cigognes was added to the former abbey building in 1872 as a tall neo-Gothic tower. The Vieille maison de Munster is one of the oldest houses in the town; since its first known mention in 1495, it was owned by craftsmen and merchants. Local residents long called it “Bazar” because it housed a trading business.
