Eglingen: Vacation Rentals and Holiday Homes
Eglingen can be explored from several perspectives through its landscape, cycling paths, and the Saint-Léger parish church. Those who have chosen Eglingen as their destination may wish to rent a vacation rental there.
Culture
The Saint-Léger parish church is located in Eglingen on Rue Principale. The present building was rebuilt in 1927 after the former building was destroyed in the First World War, apart from the Gothic sacristy dating from the 14th century. The church also houses a bell dated 1651, which the municipality acquired in 1803.
Cycling and Landscape
Mountain bike circuit No. 30, “Autour d’Eglingen,” begins at the cycling path at the level of Eglingen, passes by the Canal du Rhône au Rhin, one of the circuit’s attractions, and runs almost entirely through the countryside. The Puits à balancier d’Eglingen is also one of the attractions along the local mountain bike routes. The 34 km gravel route “La Porte d’Alsace” runs along the canal to Eglingen.
Culinary Delights
The restaurant à l'Arbre vert offers regional specialties made with carp and frogs’ legs. The restaurant is located by the canal and its cycling paths and is accessible to people with reduced mobility.
Walking Paths and Nature
The approximately 5 km walking path from Eglingen to Saint-Bernard runs alongside fields and orchards, through a dense reed bed, and to the banks of the Canal du Rhône au Rhin. At the pond complex in Eglingen, the educational trail is lined with information panels whose texts and illustrations were created with the participation of school students.
