Culture and History
The Saint-Martin parish church in Sundhouse is a shared church for Catholics and Lutherans. The portal tower of Saint-Martin Church may date from the 15th century and was heightened in 1848 according to plans by Antoine Ringeisen. The nave of Saint-Martin Church was rebuilt between 1822 and 1826 according to plans by the road and bridge construction manager Ginter.
The historic Château de Sundhouse is still inhabited. The charter “In Villa Sunthusis” was signed in 723.
Ebersmünster Abbey is located in the surroundings of Sundhouse.
The Museum of Riegel, the Château du Haut-Koenigsbourg, the Usenberg ruins, Le Hahnenberg, the Parc des Cigognes zoo, Le Schild and Rotenberg are located in the wider regional surroundings of Sundhouse.
Traditions and Events
At the Grande cavalcade du Lundi des Roses in Sundhouse, a parade takes place through the village from 2 p.m., followed by a masked ball at around 8 p.m.
