Siewiller is located in the natural region of Alsace Bossue, which lies at the transition between the Lorraine plateaus to the west and the Vosges massif to the east.

Culture
The parish church of Sainte-Dorothée has construction phases dating from 1846 and 1896. Its bell tower stands separately and is connected to the nave by a covered passageway. The ensemble also includes an enclosed site, a Lourdes grotto and a monumental cross.
Most of Siewiller’s boundary stones bear the date 1767 on one side and a consecutive number on the opposite side. They marked the former border between the County of Sarrewerden and the Duchy of Lorraine.
History
The village of Ellenbach is considered to have been abandoned between 1570 and 1580. Its ban was divided among Siewiller, Ottwiller and Drulingen; in the 19th century, the foundations of a chapel were partially uncovered. One of the earliest mentions of Ellenbach is found in a document from the Benedictine Abbey of Wissembourg dating from 847.
Millerpetershuss dates from 1756 and is one of the oldest buildings still preserved in Siewiller today. In the 1960s, it was still known as “Millerpeters Hüss”.
