History
The bell tower of the Église protestante de Scharrachbergheim dates from the 12th century, was raised by one storey, and was classified as a historic monument by a decree of 9 November 1893. The Château also reflects several historical phases: it is generally attributed to the 15th century and was built after the earlier castle on the Scharrach was destroyed. It underwent extensive restoration around 1673, in 1727, and around the middle of the 19th century.
Culture
The Catholic Church of Saint John the Baptist in Scharrachbergheim has an externally attached bell tower, a nave with three bays, and a rather narrow choir.
After 1797, the Cave Dîmière became an artists' residence where painting exhibitions were held; today, it is a community hall and wedding venue. The Cave Dîmière, also known as the Grange, is listed as the property of the Diocese of Strasbourg and is served by a regular bus or tram route.

The protected area “Pelouse du Scharrach à Scharrachbergheim, pelouses et carrières royales du Silberberg à Wolxheim et Dahlenheim” covers 80 hectares and extends across three municipalities, including Scharrachbergheim. In the protected Pelouse du Scharrach area, remnants of summit grasslands and abandoned quarries can be found alongside vineyard parcels.
This area provides a habitat for typical vineyard birds such as the woodlark (Lullula arborea) and the cirl bunting (Emberiza cirlus), as well as for the common wall lizard (Podarcis muralis) and the peregrine falcon (Falco peregrinus). The Dahlenheim–Scharrachbergheim cycle path also runs through vineyards.
