Culture and History

The Roseraie de Saverne was inaugurated in 1898 and is a 1.5-hectare garden with around 5,000 rose bushes in 800 varieties. The Fête des Roses takes place every year in June at the Roseraie de Saverne.
Nature
The Jardin botanique du col de Saverne was created in 1931 by local naturalists under the direction of Émile Walter, a pharmacist with a botanical background. It includes an alpine garden with various perennial and mountain plants.

Things to Do
The Port de Plaisance de Saverne has more than 80 berths, is located opposite the Château des Rohan, and is five minutes from the town centre. From April to October, the Port de Plaisance offers, among other things, electric boats, electric bicycles, and mini golf.
The EuroVéloroute 5, which connects London with Rome, runs along the canal on both sides of the Vosges and passes through Saverne.
