Rangen: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Landscape

Rangen lies on the western edge of the Kochersberg and faces this area. The slopes of the Goeftberg and Schaeffelberg give the village a dominant position with wide panoramas over the Vosges skyline and the Kochersberg landscape.

Culture and History

Several calvaries shape the area around Rangen and have historical, cultural and landscape value. Near the church of Rangen and on the boundary with the municipal area of Hohengoeft stands a remarkable oak tree that is around 150 years old.

The nave of the Église Saint-Martin in Rangen was built in 1750 and restored in 1868. The Église Saint-Martin is also included in the religious heritage offering of Mossig-Vignoble Tourism.

In the 19th century, Rangen consisted of two clearly separate settlement units: the village of Rangen and the hamlet of Mittelkurtz. The hamlet of Mittelkurtz is home to a washhouse that was renovated by the municipality in 2004.

Paths and Accessibility

There is no marked hiking trail crossing the municipal area of Rangen. Paths and trails lead around Rangen and uphill to the vicinity of the mobile phone antenna; from there, there is a remarkable view of the Haut-Barr and the Vosges hills.

Rangen can be reached via a road or path that can be used by a bus.

Anyone wishing to rent a holiday apartment in Rangen should focus their search on the village.
