Mertzwiller: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
Archaeological excavations show that, during Roman times, Mertzwiller was located on a transport route between Mittelhausen and Gundershoffen. In the 19th century, Mertzwiller developed from a municipality shaped by agriculture and forestry into an industrial centre: textile factories were established in 1837, and the forges of Mutterhausen were taken over by De Dietrich in 1844. During the Second World War, large parts of Mertzwiller were destroyed.

Restoration work following the conflict of 1939 to 1945 continued until 1947.
The “Les Hivernales” music festival was launched in 2018 on the initiative of Jean-Claude Strebler and offers free concerts at the beginning of each year.
