Lalaye: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
Lalaye combines well-defined trails, mountain landscapes and historic sites. The La Honel circular trail is 13.2 km long; the La Honel hike in the heights of Lalaye offers beautiful panoramas. At the Grotte de Lalaye, mountain landscapes stretch across the back of the valley.
Those who choose Lalaye as a holiday destination may wish to rent a holiday apartment.
Landscape and Trails
The orienteering course in Lalaye leads to 10 control points hidden in the forest. Along the Giessen, a stroller-friendly path runs from Villé via Bassemberg to Lalaye. Lalaye also offers playful rallies that are accessible to children aged 4 and over and are suitable as a family activity.
Culture and History
The present-day Sainte-Aurélie Church in Lalaye was built in 1777. At the Notre-Dame de Lalaye site, a white-painted sandstone statue of the Virgin Mary stands on a rocky outcrop overlooking the Lalaye-Charbes valley; the statue was erected there in 1865. The shaft of the Haus Österreich mine is classified as a historic monument.
The Lalaye mines are not open to visitors for safety reasons and therefore cannot be visited.
