Kertzfeld: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Landscape

Kertzfeld is located in the Grand Ried in the centre of the Bas-Rhin département. To the west of Kertzfeld lies the Bruch de l’Andlau, with meadows, wooded areas and forest.

The municipality of Kertzfeld covers 943 hectares, approximately one third of which is covered by forest. The mountains La Bloss, Steinhonbel, Hohenburgerberg and Le Dachfirst are also located in the vicinity of Kertzfeld.

History and Culture

Two Merovingian sarcophagi have been preserved in Kertzfeld. One is built into the base of the church tower, while the other is located next to the church.

The former Chapelle Saint-Wendelin was located near the village of Kertzfeld, not far from the road to Westhouse, at a place known as « Die Binn »; it no longer exists today. For several centuries, the chapel was one of the most visited pilgrimage sites in central Alsace.

The Kertzfeld library is located in the village’s former presbytery.

Surroundings and Connections

From Kertzfeld, Strasbourg can be reached by train in less than 20 minutes.

Ebersmunster Abbey is located near Kertzfeld. The Château du Landsberg, the Château d'Andlau and Spesburg are also situated there; all three are ruins in the vicinity of Kertzfeld.

In the Town

Kertzfeld’s playground is located on Rue de l'Église behind the town hall. It is open all day every day from 1 January to 31 December 2026.
