The Strasbourg-Neuhof/Illkirch-Graffenstaden forest massif is a national nature reserve created by a ministerial decree dated 10 September 2012. It is open to everyone all year round and has marked trails for exploring its various habitats.

Fort Uhrich is the only fort with moats in Strasbourg’s fortified belt that is still open to the public. Visitors can walk around the fort along paths beside the moats and fortification walls. Fort Uhrich can be reached on foot or by bicycle via the Piste des Forts.

The towpath along the Rhône-Rhine Canal in Illkirch-Graffenstaden is suitable for walking, cycling and jogging and runs alongside Fort Uhrich.
