Eichhoffen lies at the foot of the slope of the Grand Cru Moenchberg on the edge of the Vosges massif. Vineyards cover most of the municipality. Above the village lies the Grand Cru Moenchberg on a south- to southeast-facing slope in a landscape characterised by vineyards, at an altitude of 230 to 260 metres.
Wine Landscape
The Grand Cru Moenchberg, which belongs to Andlau and Eichhoffen, covers 11.83 hectares. It is planted with Riesling, Pinot Gris and Gewürztraminer. The wines of Moenchberg are described as having a pronounced, enveloping acidity, a salty length and fruit aromas such as grapefruit and mango.

Culture and History
The Church of Saint Andrew was built in 1865 according to plans drawn up in 1863 by the Strasbourg architect Jehu. Three figurative stained-glass windows depict Saint Andrew, Saint Florentius and Saint Odile of Alsace; they were created in 1866. The church is open daily.
The Chapel of Saint John the Baptist was initially a private chapel of the abbot of Altorf Abbey in the 11th century and was extensively rebuilt in 1569. It was one of the former possessions of Altorf Abbey in Eichhoffen. By decree of 27 February 1936, it was classified as a historic monument. The chapel is open on request.
The humanist Mathias Ringmann was born in Eichhoffen in 1482 and gave the American continent its name.
