Experiences and Trails
Since 1998, the Grand Vol paragliding school has offered tandem flights and lessons in Breitenbach, on the slopes of Champ du Feu in the Val de Villé. Several hikes are also among the activities described: the Chaume des Veaux hike is 4.6 km long, involves 247 metres of ascent and takes around two hours. It leads to the heights of the Val de Villé and offers the Pelage viewpoint; it can be undertaken on foot or with snowshoes.
The La forêt de Chirgoutte hike leads through the Vosges forest and can also be undertaken with snowshoes when there is sufficient snow; it is suitable for families. The Balade ludique à Breitenbach takes you on an exploration walk through various corners of the village, with puzzles and clues, and encourages observation.
Culture and History
The Saint-Gall Church in Breitenbach was built in 1891–1892 to replace the former place of worship. The choir of the former church in Breitenbach dated from the 14th or 15th century. Outside services, Saint-Gall Church can be seen through the windows of the entrance area.
In the surrounding area of Breitenbach are Château de la Roche, Château Frankenbourg, the ruins of Château du Bilstein Lorrain and the ruins of Château du Frankenbourg.

The mountains la Grande Bellevue, Roffling, Buchbuckel and Heidenkopf are located in the immediate vicinity of Breitenbach. Since 2017, Breitenbach and Saint-Martin have participated in the Trame Verte et Bleue project. This project aims to protect natural and wet habitats and connect them through corridors for the benefit of species and biodiversity.
