The art route in Aars is a digital city walk that takes you past selected artworks in the city. The route is 1.9 km long and free of charge. A distinctive building in Aars is ALFA Vesthimmerlands Musikhus, which was designed based on an idea by Per Kirkeby. The concert hall has a stage and seats 420 spectators. The Dansk Nutidsmuseum complements the cultural focus with a collection of objects from everyday Danish life over the past 100 years. It has approximately 1,200 m² of exhibition space.

The Hærvejen also follows the 69 km-long Himmerlandssti between Løgstør and Aars.
