Ústí nad Labem District: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The Ústecko tourist area follows the administrative boundaries of the former Ústí nad Labem District. It belongs to the North Bohemia tourism region and the Krušné hory and Podkrušnohoří tourism area.

Landscape

Tiské stěny are a sandstone rock city in the Labské pískovce near Tisá, with rock towers, narrow passages and viewpoints. Vaňovský vodopád is 12 metres high and is one of the highest waterfalls in České středohoří.

Protected landscapes in the surrounding area include CHKO České středohoří, CHKO Labské pískovce and Přírodní park Východní Krušné hory. Porta Bohemica is one of the area's highlighted natural attractions. The mountain meadows near Telnice cover 30 hectares and stretch between the ski lifts.

Culture and history

Hrad Střekov was founded in 1318 to protect a trade route. Velké Březno Chateau was built between 1842 and 1845 for Count Karel Chotek and later remodelled in the Neo-Renaissance style. It presents detailed interiors, historical stories and accompanying visitor events.

Muzeum v přírodě Zubrnice includes a farm with the permanent exhibition “Chmel, který stavěl domy”. Mlýn Týniště includes a functioning mill in the Mlýnské údolí complex. Masarykovo zdymadlo is a technical monument dating from 1923–1936, with a hydroelectric power station and a fish ladder.

Svádov is known for spring radishes and strawberries, which are sold along the road.

Trails and activities

The wider České středohoří area has hundreds of kilometres of marked hiking trails and numerous educational trails leading to natural and cultural heritage sites. The route from Zadní Telnice to Adolfov follows marked trails through Habartice and Fojtovická pláň to Komáří vížka.

The Okolím Zubrnic educational trail is 2.5 kilometres long, passes through Týniště and returns along the Luční potok. A 25-kilometre route of the Labská stezka runs on asphalt and paved surfaces; the terrain on this route is easy and has only slight changes in elevation.

Practical information

Some hiking trails in České středohoří pass through rocky terrain that can be slippery in wet weather and icy in winter. Online, you can find admission tickets, opening hours, route maps and practical visitor information for visiting Tiské stěny.

A cable car connection from the Forum shopping centre to Větruše was introduced in 2010. DÚK bus 451 serves the route from Mírové náměstí in Ústí nad Labem to the Telnice area.
