Lužce combines Baroque architectural heritage with a clearly structured landscape. At its centre is Lužce Castle, a simple rectangular Baroque building with two floors.
Culture and History
The chapel of Saint Michael the Archangel projects from the castle façade as a pentagonal risalit. It was built together with the castle in the 17th century; the chapel’s portal altar was probably acquired no earlier than the middle of the 18th century. The castle is accessible by prior arrangement.
The Lužce complex also includes the granary, a two-storey building with a gable roof and ventilation openings at the level of the storage floor. It is one of the complex’s valuable Baroque agricultural buildings.
Another historic structure is the Lužce coach house: its pillar construction stands beneath a hipped roof. Its corner pillars are made of rubble masonry, while the intermediate pillars are made of unplastered bricks. The walls are vertically boarded; their joints are covered with battens.
Landscape
Lužce lies in an elevated basin at an altitude of 380 m above sea level. A forest descends towards Lužce from the north; otherwise, the village is surrounded by fields and meadows. The small Stříbrný stream flows through Lužce. The local ponds include Veský rybník, Fixlík and “u Špirků”.

The Svatojánský okruh educational trail is located in the vicinity of Lužce. It is a 4 km circular walking route with 11 stations. Karlštejn, a landmark in the Český kras, is also nearby.
