Culture and History
In the Tihava district, the Chapel of Saint John of Nepomuk is located on an island in the middle of a small pond. It has an almost square floor plan and is built of stone and brick. The chapel has been reconstructed.
The Chapel of Saint Wenceslas stands in the centre of Kotopeky. It was built in 1823 on the village square of Kotopeky; Masses are occasionally held there.
The Válcovna stands on the road from Kotopeky. The single-storey brick building has a stone plinth and a hipped roof.
Also in Tihava, the former castle site “Na baště” has been preserved as the remains of a moat. The other ditches of the fortress were probably supplied with water from there.
The Kotopeky barrow cemetery comprises 14 mounds, some of which are uncertain.
Roads and Transport
A cycle path and a field track run along the eastern side of Kotopeky; drainage ditches are also located there.
PID bus route 641, operated by ARRIVA STŘEDNÍ ČECHY s.r.o., serves the Kotopeky and Kotopeky, Tihava, u mostu stops. The timetable is valid from 24 July 2026.
