Žebrák Observatory regularly offers observation sessions scheduled in advance, observations of exceptional celestial events, and, depending on the weather, additional sessions arranged at short notice. Observation sessions can be reserved in advance.
The observatory offers guided tours of its rooms and equipment, presentations, and, in particular, visits to the dome with the main telescope and an exhibition about the ESO Universe. In favorable conditions and clear skies, visitors can observe the sun there during the day and interesting celestial objects at night.
Culture
The town museum in Žebrák is located in a former school building on the town's main square. It features two permanent exhibitions and a seasonal exhibition. The Jaroslav Hněvkovský Gallery is a permanent exhibition of the artist's work, supplemented by photographs and sketches.
The Church of St. Lawrence is located in the middle of Žebrák's main square. East of the church, along the axis of the presbytery, there is a sculpture group of Saint John of Nepomuk from 1727 by Karel Josef Hiernle. After its restoration and return, following its stay in a restoration workshop and lapidarium from 1982 to 2018, it was placed in a pentagonal glass display case to protect it from the weather.
