Svinaře Château stands on the site of a fortress whose construction probably dates back to the first half of the 14th century. In 1766, Antonín Maschek of Maasburg had the château built in the farmyard, together with extensive gardens and a park.
Culture and History
Despite the ongoing reconstruction, the Svinaře château complex offers interesting interiors and a beautiful château park for excursions and cultural experiences. The public Chapel of Saint Wenceslas was built in 1901 to replace the Chapel of the Holy Cross at Svinaře Château, which had burned down, and was consecrated on 28 September 1901.
A document from 1840 describes the healing properties of the Svinaře spring; it also mentions a well and two basins at the site. Around 1900, a coach came from Karlovy Vary twice a week to bottle and transport Svinaře mineral water in special bottles. The Svinaře Feast takes place on 28 September.
Pond and Activities
Žába Pond is a venue for numerous social and sporting events. In winter, people play hockey and go ice skating there. Svinaře also has a multifunctional sports field with artificial turf, suitable for hockeyball, floorball, nohejbal, volleyball and tennis.

Svinaře is a popular destination for holiday-home owners, cyclists and tourists who set out from here into the surrounding countryside. The village is located 4 km from the Prague–Beroun main railway line and can be reached from Řevnice and Zadní Třebaň by bus or on foot.
