Vrlika: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Čuvari Kristova groba is a Vrlika Holy Week tradition in which members of the brotherhood guard Christ's tomb during the Good Friday rituals. The silent kolo of Vrlika is part of UNESCO's intangible cultural heritage.

The Church of Gospe od Ružarija in Vrlika was built in 1876 on the site of an older church and consecrated in 1898. It has a Baroque high altar. The Church of the Holy Redeemer is considered one of Croatia's most important pre-Romanesque buildings. According to a surviving inscription, its construction dates back to the 9th century.

The surroundings of Vrlika include Gradina, Validžića Pećina, Crvene Grede, Mali Lupoglav and Ribareva Pećina. Next to Prozor Fortress there is a sport climbing area with 15 routes of varying difficulty.

Lake Peruća near Vrlika offers swimming, rowing and fishing. The Garjak rowing centre on Lake Peruća is used year-round for training by professional and recreational rowers.

Vrlička Česma is a spring southwest of Vrlika; its grounds were designed in the 19th century. The spring continues to serve as an open-air venue for opera performances.

Events

The Blagdan Gospe od Ružarija is regularly celebrated in Vrlika on the first Sunday in October. The programme in early October includes a market for agricultural produce and handicrafts.
