Landscape
Veliki Godinj is located on the northwestern slopes of Biokovo in a karst landscape. The village preserves stone houses, paved stone streets and drainage channels; there are also separate residential, stable and threshing areas. Since 2008, Veliki Godinj has been protected as Croatian cultural heritage.

Hiking and Tradition
A designated hiking route of moderate difficulty begins in Veliki Godinj and runs via Goli brig to Manastirine. The stated ascent time is three hours.
For 2026, the one-day event “Dan tradicije i kulturne baštine” celebrating traditional customs is planned in Veliki Godinj, Rašćane. The date is scheduled for the first or second Saturday in August.
Culture and History
The old parish church of St. Michael in Rašćane was built in the late 16th century. Stećci and a stone cross around the church indicate a medieval cemetery and presumably point to an earlier church. Most of the stećci at St. Michael are decorated with geometric, cross, sword, bow and arrow motifs.
The single-nave Church of St. Stephen in Donje Rašćane was built in the late 17th or early 18th century. Three chest tombstones west of the church attest to a medieval cemetery that is older than the church. Sixteen undecorated chest tombstones have been incorporated into the façade of the Church of St. Stephen, including one with an engraved inscription. The Church of St. Stephen and its associated archaeological site in Rašćane are listed as protected cultural heritage in the development plan of the City of Vrgorac.
Grebine is a medieval cemetery from the 15th century with six stećci, three slabs and three gable tombstones on bases. The protected medieval cemetery of Grebine lies north of Pejkovići next to a road that crosses the fields of Rašćane.
