Mravince lies on the slopes of Mosor. Themed circular hiking trail Izvor života connects the Jadro excursion site with Mravince and Kučine.

The full 9-kilometre version of the trail is suitable for mountaineers and beginners. The 7.5-kilometre version is intended for recreational athletes with good physical fitness.

The hiking trail reaches an altitude of up to 400 metres.

Renting a holiday apartment in Mravince is an independent option for a stay in the village.

Culture

Between 1937 and 1939, an Early Croatian row-grave cemetery dating from the 9th and 10th centuries was excavated at Glavičine in Mravince. The 130 graves contained clothing elements and simple jewellery, including belt fittings as well as copper, bronze and silver earrings and rings.

The cemetery is considered one of the largest Early Croatian cemeteries.

The parish church in Mravince is dedicated to John the Baptist; Saint Mary continues to be venerated there.

The church’s original wooden altars were replaced by Neoclassical marble altars in 1912.

Prehistoric pottery was found on the western side of Sutikva Hill.

The cultural association KUD Zvonimir Mravince was founded in 1928.

KUD Zvonimir Mravince is based in the cultural centre built in 1932.

History

Historically, KUD Zvonimir Mravince was a centre of local cultural, educational and recreational life and organised numerous events.

The Glavičine cemetery is associated with the medieval village of Kuk, also known as Kučine.

The medieval village of Prosik remained inhabited until the 1530s.
