Culture and History

The parish church of Sv. Jeronima was built in 1745 by the Franciscan Nikola Gojak and consecrated on 24 October 1756. It became the new center of the settlement.

The church of Sv. Mihovila was first mentioned in 1621. The old cemetery church of Sv. Mihovila dates from the 17th century.

Festivals

Noć Velikog Brda is a traditional folk festival held at the sports field below the Church of Sv. Jeronima. The feast day of Saint Jerome in Veliko Brdo is celebrated on September 30.

The program of Noć Velikog Brda included a children’s competition, tug-of-war, the premiere of the film “Mali čovik Velikog Brda,” live music, food and drinks including fried fish, and a fair.
