Šibenik’s visitor attractions include two UNESCO World Heritage Sites: St. James’ Cathedral, Šibenik Cathedral, and St. Nicholas’ Fortress. The stone-built cathedral was constructed between 1431 and 1535. It is listed by UNESCO and is distinguished by a unique vault and dome structure, as well as a frieze with 71 carved faces; at the same time, it combines Gothic and Renaissance art.

St. Michael’s Fortress is a historic fortress overlooking Šibenik’s old town, St. Anthony’s Channel, the bay, and the mouth of the Krka River. The restored site includes an open-air stage with 1,077 seats for evening events. Michael’s Fortress can also serve as a convenient starting point for a city route leading downhill through Šibenik’s historic centre to the cathedral and other sights.

Barone Fortress, Fort Saint Michael, Fort Saint John, and Sveti Nikola are located near Šibenik.
