Novi Marof lies in the Bednja Valley, along the Zagreb–Varaždin road and railway line. In the town center, a 12.65-hectare protected park is located on a hill above the Bednja Valley. It is protected as a “Monument of Park Architecture – Park” and is characterized primarily by native species of the pedunculate oak–hornbeam forest community. The protected park of Novi Marof has been protected as a monument of park architecture since 1962.

History
The origins of Novi Marof Park are connected with the new manor built by the Erdödy counts after the fire at Grebengrad in 1710.
