The Košljun planning area also lies within the HR1000023 Natura 2000 Special Protection Area for birds (SZ Dalmacija i Pag). According to the nature conservation guidelines, 65 species are listed for this Natura 2000 bird protection area.

The remains of the destroyed prehistoric hillfort of Stagnica (Kruna) are located in the immediate vicinity of the Košljun planning area.
