Stara Novalja is located on a long bay in the northwest of Pag, sheltered from southerly and northerly winds. Small sandy beaches stretch along the bay as far as Trinćel Beach. The large sandy beach of Planjka–Trinćel in Stara Novalja has a beach volleyball court, a small football pitch and a water slide for children.
