Near the parish church of Saint Catherine in Novalja is the Stomorica Archaeological Collection. It contains finds from the early Christian basilicas of Novalja. The remains of a mosaic from an early Christian basilica dating from the 4th century can also be found in Mala crikva.
Antonja is a children's music festival held since 1998 before the feast day of Saint Anthony on 13 June. Around the May holidays, Fešta od maja is held as a gastronomic and ecological event where visitors can discover local specialities prepared by restaurateurs from Novalja.
Nature
Novalja Field is considered a green oasis with diverse vegetation, Mediterranean landscapes and abundant wildlife. Novalja's town beach is located on the southern edge of Novalja Bay and is pebbly, shallow and warm; it is bordered by a large green belt.
Getting Around
Visitors can enter Talijanova buža for up to 70 metres, using the safety equipment provided by the town museum. The Novalja Field Walking Trail is 4.9 kilometres long and is classified as easy in terms of terrain and fitness requirements. It is a circular route from the Church of Saint Anthony through Novalja Field and back.
A passenger catamaran connects Novalja with Rab and Rijeka. The Prizna–Žigljen ferry provides a connection from Novalja to the Croatian mainland.
