Nerezine combines cultural history, maritime traditions and the landscape of Osoršćica. Historical buildings, traditional crafts and a variety of natural and activity destinations create a multifaceted picture of the place.
Culture
The Church of Saint Mary Magdalene was built at its present location in 1534. It also houses a permanent exhibition with eleven models depicting traditional island life. Among other things, the exhibition shows the production of olive oil, boat maintenance, the processing of sheep’s wool, fig products, sheep’s cheese and a wine cellar.
The maritime history of Nerezine is reflected in its historic port, which developed through fishing, maritime transport and trade. At the beginning of the 20th century, the town’s merchant fleet comprised 37 ships. The traditional sailing boat regatta of Nerezine was held from 1920 to 1942 and from 1954 to 1966, and has taken place again since 2011.
Kula Kolana Draže in Nerezine is protected as cultural heritage. The Franciscan Church and Monastery of Saint Francis were built between 1505 and 1513; the Renaissance bell tower of the Franciscan complex was constructed between 1590 and 1604. Galerija Uljara Tuorić is located in a former 16th-century oil mill.

Landscape
The summit of Osoršćica offers views of the Lošinj archipelago, Istria, the Velebit, Gorski kotar and Triglav, as well as the islands of Rab, Pag and Silba.
St. Gaudentius’ Cave lies below the Televrina summit on the eastern side of Osoršćica. Vela Jama is a large cave on the western side of Televrina; human traces up to 10,000 years old were found there.
Activities
The Osoršćica climbing area comprises 30 routes with difficulty ratings from 4 to 8 and a maximum route length of 30 metres. The climbing routes are divided into three sectors: A, B and C.
The recurring cultural programme Ljeto u Uljari in Nerezine includes art exhibitions, workshops for children and adults, and music events.
As part of the Green Trails project, 20 kilometres of hiking trails and 10 kilometres of cycling paths in Nerezine are being improved. The Green Trails routes connect to the Osoršćica mountain traverse and link Nerezine with Osor.
