Šmrika is located along the marked 10.7-kilometre circular hiking trail “Along the Paths of our Nonas”. The route leads from Kraljevica along the waterfront promenade to Bakarac, then through Šmrika and Banj and back to Kraljevica. The trail is considered easy and suitable for all age groups.

The marked, 11-kilometre circular hiking trail “Our Landscape” also passes through Šmrika. It leads through the forest and along the sea between Nova Kraljevica Castle, Banj, Šmrika, Črišnjeva, Uvala Scott and Kraljevica and is considered easy.

Kartodrom Bura, an indoor go-kart track, is located in Šmrika. The track is 822 metres long, measures 8 metres at the starting line and 7 metres on the inside.

Kartodrom Bura is also considered suitable for supermoto, mini moto, scooters and small formula cars.

Farma Magaraca in Šmrika offers family visits featuring donkey petting or donkey riding, as well as an educational programme.

Educational visits for kindergarten and school groups focus on animals, the Šmrika area and local tradition.

Fort Maltempo is located near Šmrika. Fulfinum Mirine, Fulfinum Forum and Fortičina Omisalj are located in the surrounding area of Šmrika.

Plaža Pesja, Biserujka, Medveđak and Jelenčić are also located in the surrounding area of Šmrika.

The section of the “Tracing Frankopan Footsteps” route towards Šmrika and Križišće connects to the historic Karolina caravan route.

Šmrika Cave is one of the surrounding sites where Bronze Age artefacts, including a stone hammer, have been found.

Cuisine

OPG Lucić in Šmrika offers its own locally produced donkey’s milk.

A modern dessert variation is based on a traditional recipe from Šmrika.

Almond shells were used to prepare tea; dried figs were sometimes added for a fuller flavour.
