Gedići: Holiday apartments and holiday homes
Nature and geology
Baredine Cave is a karst phenomenon and a geomorphological natural monument.
The guided tour of Baredine Cave lasts approximately 40 minutes. The 300-metre-long route leads through five chambers to an underground lake located 60 metres below the surface.
Visitors can see the olm Proteus anguinus in Baredine Cave, an amphibian endemic to the Dinaric Karst.
Renting a holiday apartment in Gedići can be part of planning your stay.
Underground experiences
Speleolit is a training area for rope climbing. Visitors can try speleological climbing techniques there and discover the underground world.
Speleolit's climbing activity is available for larger groups as well as individuals at the open climbing wall.
Speleo Adventure allows participants to descend by lamplight, equipped for caving, into a world of stalactites and stalagmites.
Culture and geology
The Speleo Gallery and Geological Column introduces visitors to geology, speleology and palaeontology and provides information about protected tourist speleological sites in Istria and Croatia.
The content presented there includes unusual underground fauna and prehistoric traces of human activity underground.
The Geological Column displays Istria's near-surface layers: from limestone formed 165 million years ago in a coral sea, through Cretaceous layers, to terra rossa.
Agriculture and local produce
The Traktor Story exhibition presents the development of grain threshing before and after the mechanisation of agriculture: from the threshing floor through threshing machines and combine harvesters to tractors.
Traktor Story displays around fifty vintage tractors and agricultural machines in the original condition in which they were last used in the fields.
As part of the Traktor Story exhibition, visitors can sample local produce.
