Valtura: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

On Glavica Hill next to Valtura lies Nezakcij (Vizače), an archaeological park associated with the Histrians that preserves architectural remains from the Roman and Late Antique periods.

Archaeology

The archaeological site of Nesactium is open to visitors all year round, and admission is free. Expert-guided tours are available on request. The site is partially accessible to people with reduced mobility; wheelchair users can use the main entrance and move around the site independently. There is also a small museum building on the site.

Culture and History

The parish church of the Assumption of Mary and Saint John in Valtura was built in 1899 in the Neo-Gothic style and has an octagonal bell tower. The settlement centre of Valtura developed around the ruins of St Martin's Church and around a new church of Saint John built there in the 17th century.

In the surrounding area, the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Kostanjica was first mentioned in the 16th century. It has a semicircular apse and a bell gable. Gothic wooden statues from the church in Kostanjica are preserved in the Diocesan Museum in Poreč.

Svetica is a folk festival held in Valtura on the central sports field.

Cycling

Cycle route 332 runs from the Church of Saint Jerome in Muntić to Valtura. The Istra-Bike Nesactium route leads to Valtura's main square, where the Neo-Gothic Church of Saint John stands, and offers views of nature and prehistoric sites.
