Srebreno lies on the shore of Župa Bay. Its location facing the sea is appreciated for the views out to sea and from the sea. Anyone wishing to rent a holiday apartment in Srebreno plans their trip around this destination.

Geographical Setting

Srebreno is surrounded by lush Mediterranean vegetation. Srebreno Bay is classified as a turtle corridor in Croatia’s national ecological network.

Beach and Paths

A municipal regulation requires equal public access to Srebreno Beach and prohibits admission fees. The municipality’s maritime programme for the beach includes cleaning the beach, replenishing and levelling the gravel, and repairing the beach promenades after bad weather.

The maritime plan for the years 2024 to 2028 provides for seven hospitality terraces at Srebreno Beach. Under the same plan, the beach is designated for sandolines, pedal boats and kayaks.

Srebreno’s promenade is recommended for an evening stroll. The statue of Župka stands along it, depicting a woman carrying a basket on her way to the local green market. The Srebreno–Goričina–Kupari promenade is a pedestrian route.

Culture and History

Srebreno was first mentioned in 1294. The Church of the Sacred Heart in Srebreno dates from 1912, while the Chapel of St Nicholas dates from the 16th century. The Chapel of St Nicholas, also called St Ruže Limske or St Ruse, belongs to the Madeško complex and is under preventive protection. The Chapel of the Sacred Heart is recognised as cultural heritage in Srebreno.
