Zaton: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Landscape and Coast

The Vrelo freshwater springs are located at the end of Zaton Bay; their water was once used to power mills. The area of Zaton Bay includes Veliki Zaton, Mali Zaton, Štikovica and Vrbica.

Culture and History

The Church of St. Stephen with cemetery and Ljetnikovac Natali - Pozza - Sorgo - Katić are registered protected cultural assets in Zaton. Zaton also has Renaissance summer residences associated with former Dubrovnik noble families. Historical traces also include the ruins of a fortress whose construction was begun by the French and completed by the Austrians.

Gastronomy

Seaside restaurants in Zaton serve specialities from Dubrovnik and Dalmatia. Restaurant & Konoba Dandy serves the daily catch of local fishermen and is located in Mali Zaton Bay.

Restoran Ankora has a large terrace directly by the sea and is located in Veliki Zaton Bay. The menu includes fish, shellfish, crabs, risotto and grilled meat, prepared traditionally and simply.

Activities

For Plaža Zaton Mali, a kayak rental service with eight kayaks is designated in the municipal plan for the management of the marine area for 2024–2028.
