Sveta Nedelja: Apartments and Holiday Homes

Culture and History

The Parish Church of the Most Holy Trinity stands in the centre of Sveta Nedelja. The parish was first mentioned in 1501 in the list of parishes of the Diocese of Zagreb. The church was built between 1768 and 1786 and is a significant example of a late Baroque church. Its high altar dates from 1811.

The Chapel of St. Rocco was first mentioned in 1668 and has a restored Baroque altar dating from 1751. Its organ dates from 1799, has seven stops and one manual, has no pedal, and was built by the Celjer organ builder Anton Scholz.

The techniques and craftsmanship used to make Sveta Nedelja kraluž have been included in the Croatian Register of Protected Intangible Cultural Heritage. In addition, an association organises workshops on making kraluž, as well as other craft activities.

Nature and Cycling

The Sava-Strmec Ornithological Reserve is located directly on the main lake of Strmec. Cycling options include an MTB route through the Sveta Nedelja hills and an easier, family-friendly tour around the lakes, the Sava River and the Sava-Strmec Ornithological Reserve.

Activities

The Sveta Nedelja Adrenaline Centre in Jagnjić Dol offers quad biking, an adventure park, paintball, archery, human table football and a zip line. The centre is connected to hiking trails and cycling routes that lead through the Sveta Nedelja hills.

The Rimac Campus can be visited as part of guided tours.

Cuisine

Sveta Nedelja's Fish Festival is a culinary event and a fish-cooking competition held at Lake Rakitje. Fish is prepared in a 600-litre cauldron, and local traditional dishes and cakes are also offered.
