Cycling

Klanac is a stop on the Velikana II cycling route. It runs from Gospić via Smiljan, Bužim, Kalinovača, Aleksinica and Klanac to Veliki Žitnik and back to Gospić. The route is 36.7 km long and has a total ascent of 66 m.

The Jezero cycling route also passes through Klanac. Its circular route runs via Gospić, Smiljan, Klanac, Kaluđerovac, Mušaluk, Lički Osik and back to Gospić; the total distance is 33.14 km.

The Štirovača cycling route also passes through Klanac. Its circular route runs from Gospić via Smiljan, Klanac, Aleksinica, Pazarište, Štirovača, Kugina Kuća, Jadovno and Trnovac back to Gospić.

Landscape

About two kilometres from Klanac, a scenic section of the Lika River gorge has been designated. In the vicinity of Klanac, when the water level is low in summer, the foundations and ruins of the church, houses, plots and road of the flooded village can be seen at Lake Kruščica.

Sport fishing is possible at Lake Kruščica. Trout, pike, carp, catfish, tench and chub are mentioned in connection with sport fishing at Lake Kruščica. Particularly large catfish, carp and pike are highlighted.

Culture

Šević jama is a protected memorial site and immovable cultural property in Klanac.

The Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Klanac was built in 1842 in the Classical style. It stands approximately in the centre of Klanac, at a crossroads on elevated ground. The church is protected cultural property and part of the sacral-secular cultural heritage.

Place

Ranč Klanac is located in the village of Klanac near Gospić. There, it is possible to take walks on horseback through unspoilt nature.
